SWEET PONGAL (SAKKARAI PONGAL) ( CHAKKERA PONGALI)


INGREDIENTS:

Rice  - 1 cup
Moong dal- 1/2 cup
Sugar -1/2 cup
Jaggery- 1/4 cup (grated)
Cashews- 20 nos
Raisins - 20
Ghee- 1/4 cup
Cardamon- a pinch

PROCEDURE:

        Pressure cook rice and moong dal together with 2.5 cups of water and keep it aside. In a pan add ghee and fry cashes and raisins and keep aside. Now in the same ghee add cooked rice, jaggery  and sugar  and cook untill the sugar and jaggery melts and becomes tight. Now add fried cashews, raisins and cardamon powder and serve..
